It wasn't until the pressure of answering the unexpected question wore off that I realized I did have a favorite session, it was this one. Haley and Jim's engagement session in Tahoe City, CA.
The first time I met Haley and Jim in person was earlier this year. We had planned to meet at the Shady Lady Saloon in Sacramento to talk wedding photography and see if I was a good fit for their needs. Well, after doing my little speech and answering questions they had, I left so hopeful they'd choose me. There was something about this most adorable couple that really clicked with me. I saw what they wanted and knew I could deliver. So I waited patiently to hear....and a few days later, the let me know they had decided to go with me! Yay! Next step was the engagement session...and here is when my favorite session came to light.
Haley and Jim have a wonderful love story. Taken from Haley directly: "Jim and I have been together for eight years and have a very special bond as partners and best friends. We met years ago in San Diego when I was in college and he was in the Marine Corps. We were both 19 years old at the time a quickly fell in love. Less than a year into our relationship, Jim was deployed to Iraq where he spent about ten months fighting as a Marine. Our love kept us together over that time and helped us solidify just how much we loved one another. Over time, we faced other hurdles such as me going to grad school, us moving to New Hampshire together, then to Washington, D.C, and then to Sacramento where we now live. Jim also worked as a wildland firefighter in 2013, separating us for most of the year. Yet we have always remained in love and completely devoted to one another. We rely on one another as partners in life and are as in love as we ever were."
I mean come on....how do you not fall in love with this couple?
Being very in love with each other and the outdoors, we decided that Tahoe City, Ca was the best location for their engagement session. It was very important for Haley to have the images capture the two of them of course, but also to make nature almost like a 3rd person. I knew exactly what she meant, so we were off and here are the results. I must say again, these two are so in love it made me so excited to see that this kind of love still exists in the world and can't wait for their wedding! Oh and did I mention Jim not only is a Marine, Firefighter, and student, but he also dabbles in brewing?!? So we had to swing by their favorite location in Tahoe City, Tahoe Mountain Brewing Company.
